About Us

Welcome to Forest Grove School District

Forest Grove School District (FGSD) is anchored by the unshakeable belief that every child matters and deserves a school where they can learn and grow. As a majority-Latino district, we celebrate our cultural and linguistic diversity as a primary strength. This commitment to biliteracy is reflected in our robust dual language programs, which currently serve about a third of our student population. These programs are producing significant results: students who acquire English proficiency and exit English learner services prior to high school achieve a graduation rate of 85.8%, outperforming both district and statewide averages.

Our district is a leader in career-connected learning, offering 14 Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways that bridge the gap between the classroom and the workforce. Notable pride points include our innovative Mechatronics program and the storied Viking House project, now in its 50th year, where students design and construct a residential home from the foundation up. These hands-on opportunities drive high engagement and academic success; CTE concentrators in Forest Grove consistently excel, maintaining a greater than 95% on-time graduation rate.

Additionally, we offer robust music instruction in all schools. From elementary choir and music specials to middle and high school Mariachi, band, and orchestra offerings, students in grades K-12 have access to high quality music instruction that has led to numerous awards. Performing and visual arts are also prioritized as elective opportunities at the secondary level.

We remain dedicated to ensuring our graduates are prepared for a choice-filled life, whether they pursue college, trades, or direct entry into the community. Our 4-year cohort graduation rate stands strong at 82.9%. To support this goal, we continue to expand access to 23 Advanced Placement courses and dual credit opportunities through the Willamette Promise. In the last year alone, students earned 872 college credits through these programs, saving Forest Grove families more than $180,000 in future tuition costs.
