The holidays can be both a wonderful and stressful time for everybody, including our students. The Forest Grove School District website has a list of community based mental health resources, including information on multiple counseling support lines. If you would like help navigating resources, the district has care coordinators who are available to assist your family in connecting with community mental health supports. Feedback for District Initiatives
The district has begun an effort to refresh our strategic plan as well as refocusing our efforts in several key state funded initiatives (Student Investment Account, Career Technical Education, Attendance, Continuous Improvement Planning, among others).
We want you to participate in this process by sharing your thoughts and experiences. We will have several opportunities for parents, staff and students to share their experiences, beginning with a Climate & Culture Survey. On Monday, December 5th please look for a separate message sent through Parent Square that will contain a link to the survey where you can share your experiences anonymously. It will be possible to participate in the survey in your preferred language. The survey will remain open through December 16th.

It is our intention to provide regular updates on the bond process. Since the passing of the district’s bond measure, the main focus has been on securing a construction management firm. Through a regulated bidding process, the district has selected Cornerstone Management Group out of Wilsonville. They have extensive experience in managing district construction projects and have worked with FGSD during the past two bonds overseeing the construction of Joseph Gale Elementary and Fern Hill Elementary.
Currently, the district is going through the early stages of selecting architectural firms that will create and design and process for constructing the new Cornelius Elementary building as well the other projects outlined in the bond resolution approved by the school board in August.

Flu Clinic
Forest Grove School District, in partnership with getaflushot.com, has arranged for a flu vaccine and covid vaccine/booster clinic. The clinic will be held on Wednesday December 14th from 3-7pm in the Tom McCall East cafeteria. This clinic is available to all FGSD families. Sign ups are available on a first come first serve basis through this link. Please also complete the registration form for each member of your family who will need a vaccine.
FGHS has partnered with MOD Pizza as they open their new store at 3424 Pacific Ave. Forest Grove. A portion of pizza sold on December 8, 2022 will go back to the FGHS Food Pantry. So mark your calendars and grab some pizza on 12/8/22.

BONO FGSD
Es nuestra intención proporcionar actualizaciones periódicas sobre el proceso de bonos. Desde la aprobación de la medida de bonos del distrito, el enfoque principal ha sido asegurar una empresa de gestión de la construcción. A través de un proceso de licitación regulado, el distrito seleccionó a Cornerstone Management Group de Wilsonville. ¡Estudiantes de sexto grado de Echo Shaw y Tom McCall asistieron recientemente a la escuela al aire libre! Los estudiantes se divirtieron mucho y estaban emocionados de estar afuera aprendiendo sobre el mundo que los rodea. Los estudiantes aprendieron sobre plantas, animales, geología, agua y más. Tienen que tener fogatas y ver el océano. ¡Qué experiencia tan increíble!
Clínica de gripe
El distrito escolar de Forest Grove, en asociación con getaflushot.com , ha organizado una clínica de vacunas contra la gripe y vacunas contra el covid/refuerzo. La clínica se llevará a cabo el miércoles 14 de diciembre de 3 a 7 pm en la cafetería Tom McCall East. Esta clínica está disponible para todas las familias de FGSD. Las familias tienen hasta mediados de noviembre para reclamar el crédito por su cuenta a través del portal de presentación simplificado, GetCTC.org/orschools . Después de eso, las familias aún pueden reclamar el CTC de 2021, pero deben presentar declaraciones de impuestos completas. Tienen hasta el 15 de abril de 2025 para hacerlo.
