Dear FGSD Families,
Graduation is tomorrow! That means the end of this school year is right around the corner (June 16th for grades K-6 and June 17th for grades 7-11). It’s hard to believe that we are approaching the finish line.
For those of you with students who will be graduating tomorrow, I think they deserve a celebration! All of our students are incredible, but I want to call out our seniors. More than half of their high school careers has been under the cloud of COVID-19. It has interrupted and interfered with too many things to list here. However, despite these obstacles, they succeeded. That takes tangible effort and showcases true character. I applaud their resilience, optimism and tenacity.
Those characteristics will serve them well as they will become the leaders of tomorrow. They will be called on to help our community and our society as a whole through some very difficult times. I feel that our community will be better as a result of these incredible graduating seniors.

Important Information
FGSD Summer of Fun & Learning
Students who are going into 1st - 6th grade can register for Summer of Fun & Learning. Starts June 27 and goes through July 21. Subjects of study will be literacy, math, STEM fun and art.
Summer Locations
Cornelius Elementary: Grades 1-4 for Cornelius, Echo Shaw and Fern Hill
Tom McCall West: Grades 1-4 for Dilley, Harvey Clarke, Joseph Gale and the Community School. Grades 5-6 for Tom McCall and Echo Shaw.
FGSD Online Academy Registration
Enrollment is now open for the FGSD Online Academy 2022-23 school year. Please complete the registration form for each student in grade 1-6 that you wish to enroll. Note: your child must be first registered as a student in the district, at their neighborhood school, before enrolling in the FGSD Online Academy.

¡La graduación es mañana! Eso significa que el final de este año escolar está a la vuelta de la esquina (16 de junio para los grados K-6 y 17 de junio para los grados 7-11). Es difícil creer que nos estamos acercando a la línea de meta.
Para aquellos de ustedes con estudiantes que se graduarán mañana, ¡creo que se merecen una celebración! Todos nuestros estudiantes son increíbles, pero quiero llamar la atención de nuestros seniors. Más de la mitad de sus carreras en la escuela secundaria han estado bajo la nube de COVID-19. Ha interrumpido e interferido con demasiadas cosas para enumerarlas aquí. Sin embargo, a pesar de estos obstáculos, lo consiguieron. Eso requiere un esfuerzo tangible y muestra el verdadero carácter. Aplaudo su resiliencia, optimismo y tenacidad.
Esas características les servirán bien, ya que se convertirán en los líderes del mañana. Se les pedirá que ayuden a nuestra comunidad y a nuestra sociedad en su conjunto en momentos muy difíciles. Siento que nuestra comunidad será mejor como resultado de estos increíbles estudiantes de último año que se gradúan.

FGSD Verano de diversión y aprendizaje
Los estudiantes que cursarán los grados 1° a 6° pueden registrarse para el Verano de Diversión y Aprendizaje. Comienza el 27 de junio y termina el 21 de julio. Los temas de estudio serán alfabetización, matemáticas, diversión STEM y arte.

La inscripción ya está abierta para el año escolar 2022-23 de la Academia en línea de FGSD. Complete el formulario de registro para cada estudiante en los grados 1-6 que desee inscribir.
